What is Gospel or good news?
The good news is that the ‘gospel’ really is GOOD NEWS, and there is no bad news! The word ‘gospel’ (‘evangel’ from the Greek) is a compound word (‘eu’ – good, and ‘angelion’ – message).
*God loves you unconditionally. He loved you before he created the world (Ephesians 1:3-14). *It was God who acted on your behalf to reconcile you to Himself while you were still His enemy (Romans 5:8-11).
*That means that even though you are unable to live by God’s law, God makes you right with Him through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 8:1-4).
*You can have peace with God right now (Romans 5:1).
*You can have an abundant, overflowing life right now (John 10:10).
*You can know God’s forgiveness right now (Ephesians 1:7-8).
*AND ALL OF THIS IS BECAUSE OF JESUS’ DEATH AND RESURRECTION. IT IS FINISHED (John 19:30)!
